Salt therapy, also called Speleotherapy, involves inhaling microscopic salt particles that act as natural disinfectants clearing the lungs,
sinuses, and airways of phlegm allowing patients to breathe more easily.
The microscopic salt particles are passively inhaled in a specially constructed salt room or Speleochamber.
The patient sits in a comfortable chair in the salt room while breathing in the salt particles during a 45-minute session.
What is a Salt Room?
Our above ground salt room is built with 24 tons of Ukrainian natural rock salt containing 98% sodium chloride (NaCl), along with additional Himalayan salt crystals and rocks.
Sodium Chloride is a substance that absorbs moisture and has cleaning and disinfecting characteristics.
If a person has breathing problems, such as a concentration of mucus in their airways or sinus tracts, the salt penetrates inwards and draws the fluid out, while killing all the bacteria and soothing the respiratory system.
The natural aerosol effect of a salt room typically delivers 5 mg of salt during a one-hour session through normal inhalation.
The interior of the salt room itself contains no microbes or allergens, a fact that gives the body’s immune system a chance to rest during treatment.
The salt particles also convert positive ions into negative ions, which is key to strengthening the body’s immune system, better equipping it to work outside the Speleochamber.
